Terms and conditions
1. Booking and Payment
Booking/reservation of all services provided by Netland Guiding must be made via email or phone.
A written confirmation will be sent to the customer afterwards.
The booking must include the type of service(s) the customer wishes to participate in, as well as contact information for all participants: full name, address, email, and phone number.
The booking is confirmed and registered once the customer receives an invoice for the selected service(s), including the total amount.
A binding agreement takes effect when the customer receives this confirmation and invoice.
The invoice must be paid within 14 days of receipt, unless otherwise agreed.
2. Cancellations and Changes
If the customer cancels a service for any reason, the following conditions apply:
-
15% of the service price is non-refundable and covers administration costs.
-
If the customer cancels more than 15 days before the activity starts, 20% of the total amount must be paid.
-
If the customer cancels 14–8 days before the activity starts, 50% of the total amount must be paid.
-
If the customer cancels within the last 7 days before the activity starts, the full amount must be paid.
Cancellations must be made via email to Netland Guiding: arne@netlandguiding.no.
The cancellation is valid from the date the email is received by Netland Guiding.
We recommend all participants have valid travel insurance that can cover issues related to cancellations.
3. Changes and Cancellations by the Tour Operator
Netland Guiding reserves the right to change or cancel services up to the day of the activity.
This may happen due to weather and snow conditions, or other factors outside of Netland Guiding's control, that are deemed too risky for the activity to be carried out as planned.
If Netland Guiding adjusts or modifies the agreed service/activity due to such unforeseen circumstances, the service will not be discounted or refunded.
If Netland Guiding cancels a service entirely, the participant will receive a refund of 85% of the total service amount.
Netland Guiding is not responsible for consequences such as travel delays, expenses, or changes caused by weather, war, terrorism, political events, strikes, natural disasters, technical issues, or other events beyond its control.
If the minimum number of participants is not met, Netland Guiding reserves the right to cancel the service up to 4 weeks in advance. In such cases, the participant will be offered to join the service at a later time, choose a different service, or receive a full refund.
Netland Guiding is not responsible for any expenses (e.g. flights, equipment, car rental, accommodation) incurred by the participant before or as a result of a service being cancelled.
4. Participation and Execution
Netland Guiding does not cover extra costs caused by a participant's health or personal challenges. No discounts or refunds will be issued due to undesired health or personal events that prevent the participant and/or the group from completing part or all of the activity.
Netland Guiding's guides/instructors reserve the right to deny participation if they assess that the risk of injury to the individual or group is too high. This may include assessments of the participant's health condition or lack of appropriate equipment needed to carry out the activity as described and agreed.
5. Age Requirements
Persons under 18 years must provide a written authorization signed by a parent/guardian to participate in Netland Guiding's services. This must be sent via email in advance or handed in physically before the activity starts.
Persons under 16 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for all services.
6. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are required to follow the instructions and rules given by the guide/instructor from Netland Guiding.
If a participant violates these conditions, the guide/instructor has the right to issue a warning, and ultimately remove the participant from the group/activity.
Participants are liable for any damages they cause—either intentionally or through negligence—to the company or the guide/instructor (e.g., by not following instructions or rules).
If a participant chooses to leave the activity early, they must clearly inform the guide/instructor.
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings, equipment, and valuables.
Netland Guiding does not accept liability for any losses related to its services.
Participants are also responsible for any borrowed/rented equipment from Netland Guiding. Any damages or losses must be compensated by the participant.
Netland Guiding performs necessary safety assessments for all services to ensure safe tours and activities.
However, all outdoor activities inherently carry some risk of danger and injury.
Netland Guiding is not responsible for financial obligations resulting from accidents, injuries, or death, unless caused by gross negligence on the part of the guide/instructor.
Netland is also not liable for accidents, injuries, or incidents resulting from the participant's health condition, ignorance, illness, or carelessness.
If a participant has a health condition, illness, allergy, or reduced physical ability that could impact the execution of the service—for themselves, fellow participants, or the activity—they are required to inform us upon registration.
All personal and health information will be treated confidentially.
7. Insurance
No form of insurance is included in the services provided by Netland Guiding.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have—or obtain—insurance that covers accidents, injury, illness, rescue/treatment costs, and damage/loss of personal belongings/equipment associated with the specific activities.
Participants are also responsible for assessing their own insurance coverage for travel, accommodation, and personal belongings/equipment in connection with Netland Guiding's services.
8. Feedback and Complaints
Comments or complaints must be made directly to the guide/instructor during the service/activity.
This ensures that Netland Guiding becomes aware of the issue and has the opportunity to correct it.
This is also a requirement for filing a written complaint afterward.
A written complaint must be received by Netland Guiding within two months after the service was provided.
No response should be expected before the end of this period.
If no complaint is made within the deadline, the right to make a claim is forfeited.
If the parties reach an agreement or settlement on-site, no further claims can be made.
9. Disputes and Conflicts
If a dispute or conflict arises (e.g. regarding a claim or interpretation of terms and agreements with Netland Guiding), both parties should first attempt to resolve it through dialogue and negotiation.
If no agreement is reached, the case must be brought before the Conciliation Board (Forliksrådet) or the Norwegian legal system, in accordance with Norwegian law and courts.
10. Privacy
Netland Guiding aims to comply with the Personal Data Act (Personopplysningslova), which includes Norwegian regulations and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Purpose:
Netland Guiding needs to collect personal information for booking and sales of its services and products.

With explicit consent, we may ask the customer to share special categories of personal data (e.g., health information), relevant for ensuring the safety of the customer, co-participants, and the guide/instructor (ref. GDPR Article 9, nos. 2 and 3).
